Former Buffalo Bull Willie Moseley Signs with CFL

JUNE 9, 2014, WINNIPEG, MANITOBA - It's been a year since Willie Moseley went to rookie camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2013 NFL Draft. Since then, he's been biding his time waiting for his next opportunity to shine. The former University of Buffalo defensive end/linebacker seized an opportunity and has signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

What makes Moseley's story incredible is his triumph over a college injury that doctors diagnosed as a career ender with the potential that he'd have difficulty walking again. That diagnosis was the very motivation that got Willie working harder than ever to not only get his body right but also be a better football player than he was prior to the injury and that's just what he did.

Moseley left an impressive mark in his senior year at Buffalo, including 70 tackles, six QB pressures, eight tackles---for---a---losses, one interception, one fumble recovery and a blocked punt.

Quickly following the 2013 draft, the Richmond, Virginia, native was picked up as a free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Despite being waved from the team last May, Moseley has been hard at work, and is ready to show that he belongs in the CFL.

'This past year I've been working a lot on my speed, agility, upper and lower body strength and hip flexibility. I guess you can say a bit of everything!' said Moseley of the training. 'The exercises I was doing translate onto the football field in my 3 and 2 point stance get offs, as well as my change of direction.'

The former Bull recently joined his alma mater for their 2014 pro day, and worked out alongside the San Diego Chargers' latest free agent, Branden Oliver.

'The experience doing the 2014 pro day was great,' said Moseley. 'My little bro Khalil Mack had all 32 teams present so that got some new eyes on me since we both did linebacker drills together. I felt I did pretty well for myself.'

Now a couple weeks into practices in Winnipeg, Moseley is ready to take to the field.

'I'm excited to bring my 'buy in' mentality, God given talent, and work ethic into the Blue Bomber organization,' said Moseley. 'I'm just excited to be a part of this great city and team!'

The Blue Bombers are scheduled to take the field for an exhibition game on Monday, June 9, at home against the Toronto Argonauts.
